Game Postponements
Game postponements and reschedules are extremely disruptive to family schedules, the league, referees and others. There should be NO postponements or cancellations of In-House games except by the Field Marshall or game referee due to unplayable or dangerous weather conditions. Games postponed for any other reason will probably not be rescheduled and the kids will miss out on an opportunity to play. Missing players is not a valid reason to reschedule. The players who will come to the game deserve to play.
However, games with outside clubs do occasionally get postponed. All travel coaches are encouraged to contact the opposing coach several days before each game and confirm directions, location and time of the game. This advice applies to both home and away games. League rules require a minimum of seven days notice for a postponement. Cancellations are not allowed. Any postponed games must be rescheduled or the canceling team is subject to the same fines as a "no show". The "No Show" fine is $200 for a Select team and $100 for a recreational team.
If you as a coach must change a game or receive a call from an opposing coach requesting a reschedule, you should do the following:
- Advise Lisa West, the Club Admin, of the proposed change immediately. Lisa must confirm the change with the other club's scheduler and notify the league as soon as possible. Lisa's contact information is on the CAA Board of Directors list on this website.
- Call the opposing coach and agree on at least two alternate dates and times when the game could be played.
- Document the postponement and rescheduling decision in writing via E-mail with the other club. The league will not recognize verbal conversations as valid for this process.
- Copy Lisa on the E-mail so he can forward it to the league and advise the CAA referee assignor, Theo of the postponement and new date if the game is at home.
