Volunteers Needed
TOP Soccer Program
As many of you know CAA Soccer runs a program for children with special needs. This program allows any child that can not participate in a recreational program the chance to be part of a team. The program is supported by CAA Soccer and many generous donations from vendors however this program can not grow or accept more children without volunteers. We are in immediate need for a few critical positions to help this program grow.
First the program is dependent on student volunteers to help the players follow a coaches instructions or in some cases to work independently with a player. Even though we give volunteer hours to buddies for helping we struggle each week in getting students out on any consistent basis to help. We are in critical need of a buddy coordinator to help source organizations and the schools for students that would like to work with children.
The second area we would like to improve to allow us to grow is coach volunteers. We have two full time coach volunteers today, handling at times over 30 children. The candidates do not need a great deal of coaching experience but must love children and be able to volunteer on Sunday afternoons between 3 and 5 pm during the Fall and Spring soccer season. Our goal is to better divide the children by skill and give them more individual attention so that they can grow as players.
Lastly we are hoping to find someone with a physical therapy or child development background to help format part of our program, to target improvements in our players physical skills. We think if were able to learn skills and tactics to help our coaches communicate better and learn more to get the best out of every child.
We hope you will consider volunteering for one of these rewarding positions. Please contact Mike Scovill at
